KARA SF 2대 회장 인사말
안녕하세요. KARA SF 제2대 회장 이선희입니다.
초대 김지연 회장님께서 보여주신 헌신과 열정, 그리고 회원 여러분이 함께 쌓아 올린 소중한 기반 위에서 저는 이제 KARA SF의 새로운 도약과 다음 장을 열어가고자 합니다.
KARA SF는 지난 시간 동안 단순한 외식업 단체를 넘어 샌프란시스코 한인 커뮤니티의 목소리이자 지역사회를 연결하는 가교로 성장해 왔습니다. 재난 현장에 전한 따뜻한 한 끼, 차세대 인재를 위한 장학사업, 그리고 이웃들과 함께한 나눔의 자리들은 우리가 존재하는 이유와 가치를 보여주는 소중한 발자취였습니다.
이제 저는 그 토대 위에 더 큰 비전을 세우고자 합니다. 사람과 사람을 연결하고, 문화를 나누며, 공동체를 성장시키는 한국 음식의 힘처럼 KARA SF 역시 미래 세대 육성, 청소년 리더십, 장학사업, 그리고 지역사회 공헌을 중심 가치로 삼아 나아가겠습니다.
특히 차세대 인재들을 멘토링 기회, 학교 및 지역 단체들과의 협력을 통해 한식을 매개로 한 문화 교류와 교육 활동을 더욱 활성화하겠습니다. 또한 주류 사회와의 연대를 강화하여 한국 문화와 지역사회를 잇는 의미 있는 연결을 만들어 가겠습니다.
아울러 회원사 여러분의 비즈니스가 더욱 안정적이고 지속적으로 성장할 수 있도록 실질적인 교육 프로그램과 비즈니스 네트워크를 제공하며, 현장의 목소리에 귀 기울이는 협회가 되겠습니다.
KARA SF가 꿈꾸는 미래는 단순히 외식업의 발전에 머무르지 않습니다. 우리는 한식을 통해 사람과 사람을 연결하고, 지역사회를 섬기며, 미래 세대를 키워가는 공동체가 되고자 합니다.
세상에서 가장 긴 식탁은 아직 끝나지 않았습니다. 이제 우리는 그 식탁을 더욱 넓히고, 더 많은 사람들과 함께 더 멀리, 더 깊이 나아가고자 합니다.

Message from the KARA SF President: Expanding the World's Longest Dining Table
Hello, I'm Sunhee Lee, the Second President of the Korean American Restaurant Association of San Francisco (KARA SF).
I'm deeply honored to lead this organization into its next chapter, building on the remarkable foundation laid by our Founding President, Jiyeon Kim, and the dedication of our members.
KARA SF has grown into much more than a restaurant coalition. We've become a cultural bridge and a community voice — delivering meals to disaster survivors, supporting students through scholarships, and bringing neighbors together around tables built on care and shared heritage.
Going forward, I want to take that work even further. Our focus will be on youth mentorship, leadership development, scholarships, and deeper civic engagement. We'll expand K-food cultural programs, strengthen partnerships with local schools and community organizations, and build lasting connections between Korean American heritage and the broader San Francisco community.
At the same time, KARA SF will continue to be a strong support system for our members — listening closely, offering practical resources, and helping every member business grow with confidence.
Our vision is simple: use food to unite people, serve our neighbors, and invest in the next generation.
The world's longest dining table is still being set. We're expanding it — and we'd love for you to have a seat.

SF District 5 Supervisor 사무실과 협력하여 피해 주민 지원 요청
Conducted follow-up visits to shelters with additional supplies and meals, and worked with the SF District 5 Supervisor’s office to advocate for resident support.
